The pandemic has pushed ESG themes (Environment, Social, and Governance) to the very top of the agenda. The growing population is now demanding more sustainable infrastructure and resources, amidst economic shortfalls. Citizens are becoming increasingly vocal about the need for municipalities to establish a clear framework for safeguarding economic and social inclusion. By adopting ESG strategies, local governments can simultaneously create opportunities and investments to tackle sustainability, improve quality of life and pursue smart growth. Municipalities are leveraging opportunities to develop a roadmap for establishing and meeting ESG benchmarks and priorities.
