On Monday, May 3rd, we're hosting an online virtual career showcase where your students will be able to explore careers in skilled trades and technologies from the safety of their classrooms. Just like a regular career fair, your students will have the opportunity to browse booths set up by leading industry partners and get a snapshot into a variety of different careers through presentations, interviews & more. Canva Class – Level 1

Never opened Canva or just been playing around? This class is for you. Amy has been a graphic designer for almost 20 years and wants to empower you to take control of your brand using Canva. This class will cover Branding Basics for Entrepreneurs, as well as a hands-on Canva activity. Unix Shell, Version Control and R Programming Workshop Begins

Using software-carpentry.org materials this workshop introduces you to the fundamentals of the Unix Shell, Version Control with Git and R. This is a beginner level workshop series that is hands-on, covering the fundamentals of R, including data types, conditional statements, loops and functions, as well as program design, version control, data management, and task automation. Participants will be encouraged to help one another and to apply what they have learned to their own research problems. The goal is to teach the practical knowledge needed to start programming, debugging and using R in everyday tasks. You do not need to have any previous knowledge of the tools that will be presented at the workshop. You do need to have a laptop with a Mac, Linux or Windows operating system (not a tablet, Chromebook, etc) on which you have administrative privileges, as you will need to pre-load specific software packages. In this lecture, Steve Leonard will discuss the impact and challenges of AI-enabled technologies on innovation and traditional IP concepts. The lecture also addresses intellectual property protection of data driven technologies, AI generated works, inventions and designs, and the legal implications and requirements.
