Data driven image-guided therapy technologies are on the brink of transforming the healthcare landscape. However, developing these AI-based technologies brings a new set of challenges to the already arduous processes of technology commercialization. These disruptive technologies raise a myriad of issues in a rapidly changing intellectual property (IP_ environment. In this lecture, Steve Leonard will discuss the impact and challenges of AI-enabled technologies on innovation and traditional IP concepts. The lecture also addresses intellectual property protection of data driven technologies, AI generated works, inventions and designs, and the legal implications and requirements. Attendees will be able to explore different IP strategies and the use of different IP tools to maximize protection of data driven IGT technologies.
