Join the Cape Breton Partnership and Nova Scotia Community College for the second Ocean Farming session in a FREE five-part series: Ocean Farming – Food Security & Environmental Sustainability on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 1 p.m. via Zoom. The session will feature panel presentations and discussions with Stacey McCarthy, Marketing & Communications Manager, Aquaculture Association of Nova Scotia, Alicia Lake, Executive Director, Cape Breton Food Hub, and Allison McIsaac, Biologist of Eskasoni Fish & Wildlife Commission. The session will be moderated by Amanda Mombourquette, Community Innovation Lead at Nova Scotia Community College. This event is part of the Cape Breton Partnership's and Nova Scotia Community College’s Ocean Farming Series, bringing our local Cape Breton - Unama'ki business community together to hear from industry experts on a range of topics important to the success and growth of the ocean farming sector on Cape Breton Island.

Wage subsidy support for hiring students. ICTC’s WIL Digital student wage subsidy program currently provides up to $7500 per eligible student and has supported more than 500 students across Atlantic Canada this year in full and part- time positions of varying duration. Join ICTC’s Atlantic coordinator, Tim Perron, at one of the WIL Digital workshops this spring to hear more about this program and how it can help you make student part of your talent strategy. The next workshop session is March 11 with Melanie Little, CEO & Founder of NS Startup vLife. Learn How to Use Immigration Programs to Meet your Hiring Needs! techNL and the Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism (OIM) are hosting an information session for tech sector companies in Newfoundland and Labrador. If you are a tech sector employer, you can attend for free and learn about Canada’s economic immigration programs and resources to help you attract, hire, and retain global tech talent. Join OIM Officer, Kamrul Islam, for the 60-minute virtual information session on March 15, 10-11am NST. Atlantic Immigration Program: Following the success of the Atlantic Immigration Pilot, the government announced the creation of a permanent program in 2022. This program was designed to help employers in Atlantic Canada hire qualified foreign workers to support growth in Atlantic Canada and international graduates who want to stay in the region after graduation. Learn about this new permanent program, which will continue to be a flagship regional economic immigration program in the Atlantic Provinces. Recruiting Global Talent: Recruitment for global talent can seem overwhelming, however this session will provide clarity on how you can begin your search.
