PixelPAD March Break Game Jam

The PixelPAD March Break Game Jam is an online contest where solo developers and teams can hone and show off their game development skills by coding a game using Python in PixelPAD. This is a FREE event for all students ages 13-18 across Canada! A surprise theme will be announced when the event starts on March 11th. Jam participants are challenged to develop a project related to the theme within 2 weeks using PixelPAD. The top-rated projects will be awarded prizes, and the winning teams will be profiled for media releases after the game jam. Building Resilience and Confidence in Canada’s Financial System

Growth Stages + Financing Rounds

Join us on Tuesday, Mar. 16 or Wednesday, Mar. 24 for a session on growth stages + financing rounds, led by Toon Nagtegaal. To prepare for equity financing, you need to know what is expected from you and why. As venture capital becomes part of the financing mix, in the upcoming round or the ones after, understanding the inner workings of this specific asset class is crucial. From a distance, the valuation and timing of different equity financing rounds may seem like products from a magic box, however, there is more logic involved than you might think. During these morning sessions (pick your preferred date), this logic is explained and participants will understand how to prepare for the next financing round. Winds of Change - Module 3 of  the Exploring Opportunities in Ocean Tech for Young Women Program The Centre for Ocean Ventures and Entrepreneurship (COVE) in partnership with the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development – Nova Scotia, Ignite Labs, Dalhousie University’s Emera IDEAhub and DeepSense, and with support from IBM Canada and Engineers Nova Scotia, is thrilled to announce the launch of a program aimed at engaging young women in the region’s burgeoning ocean tech industry. Exploring Opportunities in Ocean Tech for Young Women is an extracurricular program being offered across the province to youth in grades 10-12 as part of a strategy to attract more under-represented groups to the marine industry. Featuring a monthly speaker series, mentoring program, and hands-on design-thinking workshop, this program will be led by women, for young women.
