The Future Skills Centre invites you to join our bilingual webinar, "Navigating the Role of AI in Skills Development Ecosystem", on May 23, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM EDT. This event is especially designed for employers, training providers, workforce intermediaries, researchers, and policymakers. Our session aims to foster dialogue on the current landscape of  AI in Canada’s labour market, showcasing insights from recent research and innovative pilot programs.

Welcome to the Acadia Institute for Data Analytics - Deep Learning Workshop! This workshop will provide a gentle hands-on introduction to developing predictive models using deep learning artificial neural networks. We will provide a high-level overview of the key elements of neural networks and deep learning, and recent advances that allow deep networks to solve challenging problems such as object recognition in images (e.g. classification of animal or letter) and sequence prediction (e.g. next word in a sentence, like Google auto-complete). Participants will get to build their own deep models using prepared software (Keras and Tensorflow) working in the browser. All code needed will be provided, however programming experience is prerequisite. You will need a laptop or desktop with the latest version of the Chrome browser, and a Google account for using Google Drive.
