In addition the environment can be copied, backed up, created and recreated in an automated way. In these lessons we will start you on the path towards making use of the great flexibility and power of cloud computing. A common use case for the cloud is its ability to provide web services. To explore the flexibility and power of cloud computing we will use the popular static website generator Jekyll. Static website generators offer many security benefits, and simplify and reduce the maintenance burden associated with well known dynamic CMSes such as Wordpress and Durpal. ACENET: Introductory Programming with R

This workshop series is hands-on, covering the fundamentals of R, including data types, functions, importing, manipulating and analyzing data and data visualization as well as program design, version control, data management, and task automation. Participants will be encouraged to help one another and to apply what they have learned to their own research problems. The goal is to teach the practical knowledge needed to start programming, debugging and using R in everyday tasks. You do not need to have any previous knowledge of the tools that will be presented or previous programming experience but intermediate level experience with a computer is highly recommended. You do need to have a laptop with a Mac, Linux or Windows operating system (not a tablet, Chromebook, etc) on which you have administrative privileges, as you will need to pre-load specific software packages.
