About this event We wanted a community where developers and designers of all skill-levels and interests could come together and freely discuss everything front-end. So we made it, it's called HFX.js. About this event When: Saturday, November 19, 2022 from 12:30pm to 2:00pm Where: North Preston Community Centre, Multipurpose Room, 44 Simmonds Road, North Preston, NS What is Hoist? Hoist sessions are led by industry experts and are designed to help teens explore and expand their interests in technology and entrepreneurship. Workshops develop skills in areas like design, coding, game development, and much more. Hoist sessions take place one Saturday a month (with the exception of July, August and December) and are targeted for teens ages 12 to 19. Topics change each month and are based on current trends, as well as the needs and interests of Hoist participants. This helps make each session unique and fun for the participants. Speaker Veronica Merryfield will discuss the importance of workplace inclusion and introduce Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion with a focus on the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. The second portion of the workshop will cover how employers can work towards inclusivity of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
