About this event Ignite Atlantic in partnership with Destination Eastern & Northumberland Shores, Tourism Industry Association of Nova Scotia, and Tourism Nova Scotia are hosting a Destination Development Northern Region Tourism Seminar! Participants will work collaboratively with other business owners and tourism industry experts to create and promote travel packages and experiences in Northern Nova Scotia. Each group will have an opportunity to pitch their travel package for a chance to win prizes! Lunch is provided. About this event In partnership with Dalhousie Agricultural Campus, IGNITE Atlantic is hosting this workshop to support and encourage the discussion surrounding automation in the agriculture industry. The event will take place at Dalhousie's Jenkins Hall. Founded in 1905, Dalhousie's Agricultural Campus stands at the threshold of a new era in agricultural education, training and research. This event will introduce Dalhousie's new SmartFarm program. What you can expect: 10:00am - 10:10am: IGNITE Introduction 10:10am - 10:30am: Dalhousie SmartFarm Introduction 10:30am - 11:30am: AgTech Solution Panel (Moderated by Dal AC) An opportunity for diverse stakeholders to discuss the possibilities and challenges in adopting automation technology in Atlantic Canada. 11:30am - 12:15pm: Lunch & Networking Enjoy a barbeque lunch catered by Chartwells. 12:15pm - 1:00pm: Open Discussion Participants will be separated into groups of 5-8 people to discuss what’s next for automation in farming, and how these projects can be supported and funded. 1:00pm: Wrap up and next steps

$100 Challenge Summer Camp

About this event The Ignite $100 Challenge for youth is a four-day Summer Camp for kids aged 8-14, that runs from Monday July 11th, 2022 through Thursday July 14th, 2022. Each camper receives $100 in seed money to turn an idea into a product. Campers will be taken step by step through the process of turning their idea into reality, from concept to getting it to market. On sales day, we “go to market”, bringing the kids and their products to a central location with some fanfare to generate public interest. Any profits made the campers will keep. Camper drop-off is from 8:30-9 AM, and camper pick-up is from 3:30-4 PM! Lunch will be provided, if there are any dietary restrictions please be sure to contact the instructor ahead of the camp. The Bookkeeping Bootcamp

The Bookkeeping Bootcamp will take place on Tuesday afternoons between September 20 to November 22, 2022. Each class is in person. Classes are 4 hours per week (1 - 5pm). The course is 10 weeks long. Classes are held at Ignite Labs in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. Participants are expected to attend a minimum of 80% of all sessions. Attendance is limited to 12 participants. Participants must either own a business or be in a management position. The Bookkeeping Bootcamp is a FREE professional development course. The course is supported by Nova Scotia Workplace Education, Yarmouth CBDC and Ignite Labs. The instructor is Julie Walters, owner of Pathfinder Bookkeeping & Tax. Pathfinder’s mission is to: provide knowledge and support to small businesses in rural Atlantic Canada, allowing you to grow and spread wealth.
