Atlantic Labour Market Brief: November 2023

Canada Employment grew in the latest month by 24,900 jobs, making it the fourth consecutive monthly gain. Full-time jobs increased alongside fewer part-time. The unemployment rate increased slightly in November to 5.8%, reaching its highest point since January 2022. The goods-producing sector added jobs (+38,300), while the service sector saw job reductions of 13,400. Atlantic Labour Market Brief: October 2023

Canada Employment expanded at a moderate pace in the month, up 1.0% on an annualized basis. Part-time jobs increased while full-time jobs declined. The unemployment rate moved higher in the month to 5.7%, reaching its highest point since January 2022. Canada Employment grew at a strong pace in September, up from the prior month by 63,800 jobs. The growth occurred in both full-time and part-time positions.
