Employment grew at a strong pace in September, up from the prior month by 378,200 jobs, making it the fifth consecutive monthly gain. The growth occurred in both full-time and part-time positions, though primarily full-time.
The rate of unemployment fell sharply, going from 10.2% to 9.0%, influenced by the solid job gains.
The goods-producing sector added jobs (+75,100), while the services-producing sector saw growth of 303,100 jobs.

Atlantic Canada
Employment grew at a strong pace in September, up from the prior month by 17,100 jobs, making it the fifth consecutive monthly gain. Full-time jobs increased alongside fewer part-time.
The unemployment rate fell in the month to 10.3%, influenced by the solid job gains.
The goods-producing sector lost jobs in September (-800), while the services-producing sector sawgrowth of 17,700 jobs.
