  • More people were working in June, with the addition of 59,900 jobs.
  • Full-time jobs increased alongside fewer part-time.
  • The unemployment rate moved higher in the month to 5.4%, reaching its highest point since January 2022.
  • The goods-producing sector added jobs (+9,800), while the services-producing sector saw growth of 50,000 jobs.

Atlantic Canada

  • Employment rose during the month by 2,000 jobs.
  • Full-time jobs increased alongside fewer part-time.
  • The unemployment rate moved higher in the month to 7.0%.
  • The goods-producing sector lost jobs in June (-200), while the services-producing sector saw growth of 2,200 jobs.
