Food Web connects food entrepreneurs with under-utilized kitchens in cafés, churches, community centres, restaurants, and other facilities. The platform unlocks local infrastructure that already exists but is difficult to access.
Founded in Nova Scotia, Food Web is designed to strengthen local food systems by making it easier for small food businesses to launch and scale without the burden of major upfront capital costs. The platform helps kitchen owners generate new revenue from idle time, while giving food producers, caterers, farmers, and market vendors an affordable and compliant way to grow.
Built with modern web technologies, Food Web integrates booking, payments, deposits, insurance, availability management, and safety requirements into a single streamlined platform. The company works closely with the Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture, multiple Regional Enterprise Networks, farmers’ markets, and local economic development partners, ensuring the tool reflects real community needs.
Food Web’s mission is to make food entrepreneurship more accessible, support rural and urban communities, and strengthen regional food sovereignty by enabling shared use of kitchens and infrastructure across Atlantic Canada.
