Robotics Camp August 9 – Yarmouth

In this one day robotics course, learners will be introduced to the concept of building robots, using motors and sensors from the LEGO Mindstorms EV3 kit. It will then progress to learning programming logic. Each progression begins with the introduction of a particular concept followed by learners creating, programming and experimenting. This robotic program places much emphasis on understanding concepts through experimentation and play! Volta’s Pitch Competition Powered by Cox & Palmer

This Pitch Competition, powered by Cox & Palmer, is an excellent opportunity to practice your pitch, fine-tune your deck, and get feedback from peers and industry professionals. You will also gain valuable experience presenting to investors, potential early adopters and a room full of people (you never know who may be sitting in the audience!) Each competition will have a judging panel, comprised of entrepreneurs, potential investors and community leaders. Judging will be based on the pitch, not the business, and will focus on the presentation quality and content. GameGen Halifax

GameGen is a fun-filled event for youth ages 13 to 25 to learn and practice video game development through the use of Scratch or Unity. There will also be special presentations from industry experts. Volta, in partnership with Ignite Labs and Digital Nova Scotia, is pleased to help bring this event to life in Halifax. Throughout this exciting weekend, you will develop, create, and pitch a videogame of your own creation. You will receive helpful tips and information from industry experts from across Nova Scotia. You will have a chance to get hands-on with tech and explore hot topics such as virtual reality, 3D modeling, and digital art. We welcome both teams and individuals to participate. No team?
