Speaker Kristan Belanger Kristan Belanger is a proud member of Glooscap First Nation. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, as well as a Juris Doctor from Dalhousie University. Currently pursuing a Masters of Information at Dalhousie, she is dedicated to promoting a holistic understanding of these interwoven fields. In her role with the Lnuwey Tplutaqan Wikuom (Indigenous Law Lodge), Kristan navigates the intersection of Indigenous knowledge, cultural expressions, and intellectual property, critically examining how Canadian intellectual property law affects Indigenous people today.
