Bringing Tech Talent to Nova Scotia: What’s Your Tech Immigration Strategy?

    Online

Multiple immigration pathways have been created by Canada’s immigration system to support tech companies across the country. It can be confusing to choose from a variety of pathways when bringing foreign tech talent to work for your team in Canada. This webinar will walk you through some of the most popular and fastest ways to bring the best foreign talent to Canada. A Q&A session will focus on your questions related to this subject. After this webinar you will understand: Each immigration program has its own target applicants. It’s important to get it right when submitting your foreign workers application as Immigration Canada will not think this out for you. Time is of the essence and thus a thorough planning and a tech immigration strategy is needed. Not all foreign workers are the same. Each applicant’s particular background, skills and objectives can pivot you to a certain immigration pathway. Multi-step immigration may be needed to help your foreign workers come to Canada and retain those workers in your company.

Exploring multigenerational workforces in 2022 & beyond (Host: MB)

    Nova Scotia, Canada

Today’s workforce is more complex than ever before as aging populations and an economic crisis have resulted in a labour market where five generations coexist. This multigenerational workforce gives rise to unique challenges for organizations in understanding and addressing disparities in values, needs, and expectations, and in creating advancement opportunities for young professionals while recognizing and including older workers. Research conducted by the World Economic Forum, AARP and OECD found that 83% of global executives agree that multigenerational workforces are key to business growth and success, and 80% of organizations employ a multigenerational workforce. However, 53% do not include age in their diversity and inclusion policy and 58% do not provide training or support related to managing a multigenerational workforce. Furthermore, Deloitte’s 2021 Global Human Capital Trends reported that only 6% of survey respondents strongly agree that their leaders are equipped to effectively lead a multigenerational workforce. The challenges of a multigenerational workforce, exacerbated by the changes COVID-19 forced on or brought about in the world of work as organizations transformed operational models, make it difficult for many organizations, employees, and job seekers to navigate and succeed in this new complex workforce demographic. Join leaders as they share their personal […]

    Ocean Frontier Institute Conference 2022

Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel 1919 Upper Water St, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada

Climate is at the top of the international policy agenda and is creating massive risks and opportunities in the commercial sector. Understanding the changing ocean is critical to predicting the future of climate. The ocean stores hundreds of times the heat and 50 times more carbon than the atmosphere and takes up more carbon than all the rainforests combined. Some of the most pressing global issues at the frontier of the ocean-climate nexus are achieving net zero, developing sustainable food from the ocean, and protecting ocean biodiversity. Conference delegates from industry and policy will share their visions and challenges for sustainable development of these topics over the next decade. They will motivate the next frontier of ocean research by highlighting key questions to advance the field and outline their commitments to action to make an impact on solving some of the most pressing issues at the ocean-climate nexus. Ocean Frontier Institute researchers will join the dialog and present results from their studies that contribute directly to enabling the future of critical policy and industry decisions.
