About this event When: Saturday, November 19, 2022 from 12:30pm to 2:00pm Where: North Preston Community Centre, Multipurpose Room, 44 Simmonds Road, North Preston, NS What is Hoist? Hoist sessions are led by industry experts and are designed to help teens explore and expand their interests in technology and entrepreneurship. Workshops develop skills in areas like design, coding, game development, and much more. Hoist sessions take place one Saturday a month (with the exception of July, August and December) and are targeted for teens ages 12 to 19. Topics change each month and are based on current trends, as well as the needs and interests of Hoist participants. This helps make each session unique and fun for the participants. November's Topic: Design Thinking During this fun and interactive session we will work together and go through the design thinking process. Entrepreneurs use design thinking for solving problems to help best understand what their customers are looking for. What Happens at Hoist? Lunch A healthy light lunch will be provided. The Cape Breton Partnership invites you to join us on November 23 for an employer-focused Workplace Inclusion Workshop. Speaker Veronica Merryfield will discuss the importance of workplace inclusion and introduce Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion with a focus on the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. The second portion of the workshop will cover how employers can work towards inclusivity of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Veronica will also briefly touch upon specific topics of accessibility in the workplace. We look forward to seeing you for a great morning of learning! About this event Join us on November 23rd as IGNITE Atlantic welcomes you to The PIER. Through panel discussions and presentations, we will discover the potential of transportation and logistics opportunities. This will be a great time to meet some of The PIER members as they highlight vessel decarbonization, AI at ports and marine electrification. The event will be held from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm at The PIER (1209 Marginal Road Rd in Halifax). Doors open at 9:30am. Refreshments and lunch will be provided! Join us for drinks and an afternoon of networking at the Garrison Brewing from 3:30-5:30 pm.
