Disrupt the Dialogue on Diversity Panel

One of the social issues that have gotten renewed focus during the pandemic is around diversity. There has been a strong drive to address roadblocks that exist to the advancement of underrepresented groups to leadership positions in organizations. Growth in women’s representation on boards and in C-suites at technology companies has increased worldwide in the past 10 years, but there’s still a long way to go in Canada. There are sweeping disparities between men and women in representation at the highest levels and in pay. The Canadian technology industry is no exception. Slow growth in the advancement of women is one facet of diversity. There are ways to make disruptive change happen and certainly much to be learned from other countries. Disclosure requirements under the Canada Business Corporations Act (CBCA) is a step but still, more is needed. What can be done to kickstart meaningful change in Canadian technology companies around diversity? In public companies, should there be regulatory minimums instituted? Should executive compensation be tied to the achievement of diversity and inclusion goals? These are just some of the questions we will discuss. Join us on June 23 for a dynamic roundtable discussion with experienced C-suite level female leaders […]
