    Beyond Usability: Design for Adoption

VOLTA 1800 Argyle Street #Unit 801, Halifax, NS, Canada

Details You deliver a flawless product, built on user needs and tested, only to watch users quietly ignore it. Sounds familiar? The design isn’t the problem. The transition is. Even the best human-centred process can’t guarantee success if people aren’t ready for change. What if your work truly solved a problem? What if your products were wholeheartedly welcomed? Kedar Kadam, our November speaker, believes the key is guiding people through change during digital transformations and product development. We’ll explore ways to make products (and product changes) stick, not just get them launched. We'll dive into running change management alongside human‑centred design from day one to turn user resistance into fast and lasting "yes" and "thank you". Join us for a discussion on improving user adoption and rediscovering that sense of satisfaction when your work genuinely makes a difference. > Agenda 7:00 PM Doors open, networking time 7:15 PM Introductions from the event hosts, Nata and Ruby 7:20 PM Beyond Usability: Design for Adoption with Kedar Kadam 7:50 PM Q&A 8:15 PM Networking and wrap-up 8:45 PM Doors close > Speaker Bio Kedar Kadam is a UX leader with over two decades co-creating award-winning healthcare solutions that drive adoption and improve patient outcomes. Employer Essentials: Hiring and Retaining Temporary Foreign Workers

As Canadian employers continue to face labour shortages and skills gaps, immigration has become an essential strategy for attracting and retaining top talent. In this session, Suzanne Rix, KC, and Laura Hanusiak of Cox & Palmer will provide a clear and practical overview of the immigration pathways available to employers hiring foreign workers. The discussion will explore key programs such as the Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP), the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP), the Global Talent Stream (GTS), and the Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) process, as well as cross-border hiring options under the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA). Employers will gain insight into how to choose the right immigration pathway based on position requirements, wages, and worker qualifications, along with an understanding of residency and citizenship requirements and potential challenges such as inadmissibility. Whether you are new to international recruitment or looking to refine your approach, this session will equip you with the knowledge and confidence to navigate Canada’s immigration system effectively—helping your organization access global talent, strengthen your workforce, and support long-term growth.
