Join them Tuesday, April 4 for an evening of networking with young women in business across Northern Nova Scotia! The gala provides a unique opportunity for women studying business to connect with established entrepreneurs and change makers in our community. Dinner will be provided. **There will be a 1-hour marketing workshop prior to the event for post secondary students only (not open to community members)** About the workshop facilitator: Katelyn Roy is the Marketing and Engagement Manager for the Town of New Glasgow. She collaborates with all municipal departments to implement strategic communications on behalf of the Town. Her love of marketing comes from a lifelong passion for storytelling and interest in communicating opportunities in rural Nova Scotia. Katelyn has a Bachelor of Public Relations degree with minors in Marketing and Communication Technology from Mount Saint Vincent University. Interactive Data Analysis & Scientific Visualization with Paraview

Scientific visualization of large datasets allows you to identify critical areas and vulnerabilities during the design process so that you can focus efforts, cut design time and create a better product. This workshop will introduce participants to scientific visualization on both a conceptual and practical level. Following an overview, the session will focus on teaching participants how to use the open-source Paraview visualization software on their own desktop. This will be followed by a demonstration on how open source Paraview can be used on a supercomputer for datasets that are too large for desktop or workstations. This is a beginner, hands-on workshop for R&D engineering or scientific staff with no scientific visualization experience.
