Wage subsidies of up to $7000 when you hire a post-secondary student

Every Wednesday at 11:00 Atlantic, from April 5th until May 31st, Join Tim Perron, ICTC’s Atlantic Regional coordinator and learn about ICTC’s WIL Digital wage subsidy program that helps employers make students part of their talent strategy. Subsidies up to $7000 per student available for both full-time and part-time positions, co-op positions and any other position that provides students the opportunity to practice skills relevant to the digital economy. In this workshop you will learn about the WIL Digital student wage subsidy program including the financial support available, program eligibility requirements, the kinds of positions that can be supported, how to apply and some “pro-tips” to help streamline your application process. WTWT Virtual Pitch Competition 2023

Volta’s Women Taking over the World with Tech (WTWT) Virtual Pitch Competition is a chance for founders identifying as women within the Atlantic Canadian tech ecosystem, to practice their three-minute pitch and vie for a $500 Visa Gift Card. This event provides an opportunity for women entrepreneurs to practice their pitches and receive feedback from a panel of industry experts. The judging panel is comprised of experienced entrepreneurs, potential investors and community leaders. BSides Halifax 2023

BSides Halifax is proud to announce their 3rd (nearly annual) Halifax BSides conference! This time IRL (in real life). Fresh off the heels of AtlSecCon, they are testing the waters for in-persons event with a small and intimate venue (the Halifax Central Library BMO room). But don't let the size fool you, this one-day event will be packed full of great talks for your fellow security enthusiast. Tickets will be very limited this year and are available for a minimum "donation" of $13.37 (see what they did there). As with their previous BSides, all proceeds go to Feed Nova Scotia, because have you seen grocery prices lately? They are looking forward to seeing everyone in just a few weeks!
