Building Intercultural Competence Workshop (In person)

As Nova Scotia becomes more culturally diverse, we all need to learn how to welcome and work with immigrants and build a better community together. In this full-day, in-person workshop, you will: Increase your understanding of settlement and integration issues Explore practical ways to welcome and support new immigrants Develop intercultural relationship-building skills for working with new immigrants This interactive workshop is open to organizations, service providers, educators, and community volunteers. We also deliver workshops tailored to individual organizations. There is no fee. Workshops take place monthly, either online or in person at ISANS (6960 Mumford Rd, Suite 2120). About this event Samqwane’jk is a first-of-its-kind initiative led by Ulnooweg Development Group in collaboration with COVE and Upswing Solutions. Indigenous ocean businesses were invited to propose projects in partnership with companies at COVE. Three projects have been selected to receive funding support rolled out over two years. Join us on May 26th to meet three Atlantic Indigenous Ocean companies selected to receive support under the Samqwane’jk Ocean Partnership Initiative for their innovative ocean projects. The purpose of the Samqwane’jk initiative includes building partnerships with ocean technology companies to boost competitiveness, enhance innovation, collaboration, and knowledge sharing for Indigenous and non-Indigenous ocean businesses alike.
