Ideathon

This week we invite you to join our Ideathon! it is a mini one-hour hackathon but instead of creating a solution/prototype at the end of a long weekend, you will find a problem worth solving and propose an idea worth validating! During the event, you'll work with an interdisciplinary group of students made up of your entrepreneurial peers from all across Atlantic Canada. Together you'll discover a problem that needs solving, brainstorm a solution and present it to the group.  No experience or startup idea is needed to join! Healthy Aging Hackathon

ShiftKey Labs and Pulse are proud to present the Healthy Aging Hackathon! Take part in this 3-day event, come up with innovative solutions! For the first time, Shiftkey Labs and health innovation sandbox, Pulse, are partnering to host a virtual hackathon to solve problems in healthy aging and continuing care November 20 -22! In this intensive innovation event, teams will collaborate to develop new solutions to challenges in the industry. Ocean Solutions Exchange

Virtual Ecosystem 101

Join us on Thursday, January 28 at 12:00pm AST where you will hear from representatives of Volta, BBI, CDL, Innovacorp and Propel ICT . A big part of getting support for a startup is understanding where to look for the resources needed and how to access them. With so many programs and organizations out there, it can be difficult to know where to start. This event is designed to allow you to have all your organization-specific, and program-specific questions answered. Each organization will provide a general overview, which will cover how they fit within the ecosystem, along with a thorough breakdown of ideal participants within the ecosystem. This online session is intended to help people find the program that is right for them based on the stage of their startup (or idea). Business Unusual

The Pictou County Chamber of Commerce, with the support of several community based organizations, will present a special ONLINE event called “Business Unusual” celebrating those individuals and organizations who stood out during the initial wave of the pandemic. Not much about 2020 was normal. We all felt the changes in our lives. The Pictou County Chamber of Commerce felt it as well. So they decided it wasn’t the year to do their regular Chamber Awards evening. Instead, they decided it was about shining a light on those who have made such a huge difference to our community and beyond. We all stepped forward, supported where we could – and the honourees are a group they want to highlight, to show how we all continue to shine on, now more than ever.
