Join us for our March Indigenous Coffee Break. Featuring special guest, IndigiMall! WEKH Indigenous Coffee Break Series - 2022, provides monthly, 1-hour long sessions that connect aspiring and established Indigenous women entrepreneurs (IWEs) directly with, both Indigenous and non-Indigenous, ecosystem support organizations. These sessions aim to bring awareness to the resources and opportunities available to IWEs in various industries, regions, and sectors across the traditional lands and territories that make up what is known as Canada. These sessions are designed to create a safe space for IWEs to ask questions and seek the support they need during any stage of their entrepreneurial journey. Please note that each session is unique, and topics may be explored either in a broad or specific format. Please refer below for more detailed information regarding this particular session. We hope to see you there! *Our use of the term women is inclusive, including cis women, trans women, Two Spirit, genderqueer, gender fluid, and non-binary folks.

Hoist sessions are led by industry experts and are designed to help teens explore and expand their interests in technology and entrepreneurship. Workshops develop skills in areas like design, coding, game development, and much more. Hoist sessions take place one Saturday a month (with the exception of July, August and December) and are targeted for teens ages 12 to 19. Topics change each month and are based on current trends, as well as the needs and interests of Hoist participants. This helps make each session unique and fun for the participants. March's Topic: When you are looking to start a business, you often have an amazing idea, but are entering into a space that already has a lot of competition. It is then up to you to look at what products are similar to yours and what is going to make you stand out . During this activity, we will be comparing and trying similar products made by different companies and seeing why they are good or bad.

More than 80% of NPower Canada alumni secure employment or enroll in higher education within 6 months of graduating, with 30-40% already placed into jobs upon completing training. Graduates launch digital careers in roles such as Help Desk Agent, Data Analyst, QA / Tester and Business Systems Analyst with companies like TELUS, Accenture and CIBC. NPower Canada is a registered charity launching underserved young adults ages 17-30 into meaningful digital careers. NPower Canada's virtually delivered programs provide youth with 15 weeks of no-cost, part-time tech skills training, including industry certifications, complemented by employability skills coaching and wraparound supports (including bus pass, interview clothing and laptops/WiFi based on financial need). Program participants are also connected directly with employers, job retention supports and five years of alumni services including continued education and mentorship.
