Join us for the second Fall 2020 Women Leading Startups: Fireside Chat Series! There is a lot of exciting momentum going on in the startup community in Atlantic Canada and this is your chance to be part of it! If you are currently an entrepreneur, considering starting your own business or want to use your skills to solve a problem but don’t know where to start, this series is for you! Join a safe community each month to hear from established women leading high growth startups in Canada. Ask questions, network with your peers, get advice and exchange ideas. There will be one fireside chat each month. It will run 12:00 pm Atlantic time/12:30 pm NL time for one hour on Sept 29, Oct 20, and Nov. 24. Attend one chat or all three! Our Speakers Nicole Tibaldi Senior Manager of Engineering @ Gatsby Nicole is the Engineering Manager for the Cloud team at Gatsby. She cares deeply about improving tech hiring, agile processes, and bridging the gaps between product, design, and engineering. Nicole has previously worked as a frontend engineer for Halifax-based startup Manifold.co and New York travel company Tablet Hotels, and managed the Growth team at CircleCI. Prior to her pivot to the tech industry, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in music performance and spent five years working in banking.   Tyler Pachal Software Developer @ Pager Duty Tyler Pachal, is a software developer at PagerDuty. He spends most of his time working in Elixir, as well as giving talks and running workshops. Venn Innovation Collision Day

COVID-19 has fundamentally changed the way residents live, work and play in Canadian communities. More importantly, the months since the onset of the pandemic have also put a spotlight on longstanding social issues, particularly with respect to racism and achieving equality, opportunity and fairness for Indigenous communities, black Canadians and other visible minorities, including the growing number of international newcomers choosing to come to Atlantic Canada. From cultural appreciation to ensuring all residents have full access to service delivery and adequate housing and can integrate and contribute fully to our communities and economy, these issues are and will remain of fundamental importance to Atlantic Canada’s future, and a key challenge to getting our economies back up and running.
