Innovative Care 2020

Atlantic Canada’s Event of the Year for Health Care and Aging. An opportunity to hear from small and large innovative companies in the Health and Longevity Sectors, to learn new skills and to network with investors, startups and support organizations. A great program of speakers from near and far and a startup pitch competition highlighting new, exciting ideas. Innovate Care, the Jameson Group and Aging2-Halifax are pleased to be working in collaboration with the NS Dept of Seniors, Northwood and other organizations to showcase Nova Scotia as an innovation hub for innovative home & health care, aging, senior, mobility and independent care solutions. The event will offer a fully-featured virtual experience. On October 5 & 6th IC2020 in partnership with Aging2.0’s and its Pitch competition will feature thought provoking keynotes and interactive roundtables on innovative care solutions. They’ll focus on independence for those who require care at home, at a home care facility or within a health care system. ACENET Programming Workshop: Unix Shell, Version Control and R Begins

Using software-carpentry.org materials this workshop introduces you to the fundamentals of the Unix Shell, Version Control with Git and R. About this Event This is a beginner level series that is hands-on, covering the fundamentals of R, including data types, conditional statements, loops and functions, as well as program design, version control, data management, and task automation. Participants will be encouraged to help one another and to apply what they have learned to their own research problems. The goal is to teach the practical knowledge needed to start programming, debugging and using R in everyday tasks. You do not need to have any previous knowledge of the tools that will be presented at the workshop.
