This in-person gathering aims to bring together individuals of diverse backgrounds to honor the rich contributions and achievements of the Black community. Throughout the evening, we will provide a platform for networking and fostering connections among attendees. Engage in meaningful conversations, share experiences, and build relationships with like-minded individuals who are passionate about promoting inclusivity and diversity. BSides Halifax is proud to announce their 3rd (nearly annual) Halifax BSides conference! This time IRL (in real life). Fresh off the heels of AtlSecCon, they are testing the waters for in-persons event with a small and intimate venue (the Halifax Central Library BMO room). But don't let the size fool you, this one-day event will be packed full of great talks for your fellow security enthusiast. Tickets will be very limited this year and are available for a minimum "donation" of $13.37 (see what they did there). As with their previous BSides, all proceeds go to Feed Nova Scotia, because have you seen grocery prices lately? They are looking forward to seeing everyone in just a few weeks!

May is Here We Code Month, a platform to showcase the diverse digital activities and events taking place across the province, promoting the fact that Nova Scotia is committed to providing digital education and opportunities for all. Come celebrate the beginning of Here We Code Month and attend their kick-off networking event! ISANS Immigrant Entrepreneurship Awards

October 18 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm In celebration of Small Business Week, we are hosting our third annual ISANS Immigrant Entrepreneurship Awards! The goal of this event is to recognize the positive impact immigrant small businesses have made on our prospering Nova Scotian economy. At the ceremony, many immigrant businesses will be showcased, and participants will have an opportunity to build their networks and connect with diverse business owners. To close the night, we’ll host a reception with culturally diverse cuisine catered by immigrant businesses in Nova Scotia. This is an interactive session that focuses on helping you navigate the intricacies of becoming an Entrepreneur About this event “So You Want To Be An Entrepreneur” is designed to help the participant investigate their entrepreneurial attitude and mindset by exploring both the emotional and practical aspects of business ownership. This Interactive session is focused on helping you assess the sometimes conflicting nuances between what is in your heart and what is in your head, ultimately bringing you to a decision point with regard to your entrepreneurial future. Participants will work through a series of exercises designed to assess entrepreneurial characteristics and personal motivations and the goals for their business. In addition, participants will explore the concept of an entrepreneurial and innovation mindset.
