Event Details: Lifelong learning is increasingly viewed as a “must” vs. a “nice-to-have” in today’s digital economy, and micro-credentials are one way for learners to beef up their skills and competencies. However, the sheer volume of options and different standards associated with the micro-credential ecosystem makes it challenging for learners to confidently select training pathways that will give them the skills employers seek. To address this challenge, ICTC is leading research that is part of a multi-sector initiative to define, develop, and validate a micro-credential framework. On May 26th, ICTC is bringing together a group of Halifax’s digital economy leaders to share their perspectives on micro-credentials, including how they can be designed and deployed to address real-life labour market needs.
