BSides Halifax is proud to announce our 4th (becoming annual!) Halifax BSides conference! The event will once again be held IRL (in real life), but this time in the fall on Thursday, November 14th, 2024. It will be another great day filled with talks and the chance to spend time with fellow security enthusiasts, as well as some muffins, hopefully. For this go round we are partnerning with ShiftKey Labs and will be holding the event at Dalhousie's Computer Science building. As always, all are welcome, be they battle-hardened analysts, DC902 stalwarts, application security experts, or those new to the field. All proceeds will again go to Feed Nova Scotia, because grocery prices haven't gotten any better since last time. SOLVE REAL-WORLD CHALLENGES ON EARTH & IN SPACE The NASA Space Apps Challenge, an innovative and public engagement initiative under NASA’s Science Mission Directorate, is coming to Halifax, Nova Scotia, in 2024. This global event aims to promote transparency, participation, and collaboration by making NASA's and its Space Agency Partners' data openly available to the public. The NASA Space Apps Challenge consists of two programs: the NASA International Space Apps Challenge and the NASA Space Apps Collective. Both programs encourage creative solutions to real-world problems using the extensive data provided by NASA. Funded by NASA's Earth Science Division through a contract with Booz Allen Hamilton, Mindgrub, and SecondMuse, the event is supported by the NASA Space Apps Global Organizing (GO) Team. This team, composed of members from these organizations, provides guidance and support to Local Leads and participants throughout the NASA Space Apps experience, fostering community engagement year-round. Join us in Halifax for this exciting opportunity to collaborate, innovate, and contribute to solving global challenges with NASA's data.
