    Employment Innovation Symposium For Employers & Managers

    Holiday Inn Sydney 300 Esplanade, Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada

    Navigate Startup House and the Cape Breton Partnership invite local employers to register for and attend the Employment Innovation Symposium For Employers & Managers, to take place November 25 at the Holiday Inn Sydney from 9 am – 12:30 pm. The Symposium will feature presentations and discussion on a number of topics focused on approaches to finding, inspiring, and keeping the employees that workplaces need to be successful in a post COVID-19 economy. The event will be highlighted with a keynote presentation by author, speaker, seminar leader and corporate trainer Eddie LeMoine. Through this keynote presentation and more, event attendees will learn how to apply innovation to their human resource practices as they navigate labour shortages and other challenges. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in interactive breakout sessions with industry professionals who will lead discussions on navigating the immigration process for employers, human resources best practices (attraction, retention, remote working), cultural context and considerations for diverse employees, and more.

    Join the Cape Breton Partnership and Nova Scotia Community College for the second Ocean Farming session in a FREE five-part series: Ocean Farming – Food Security & Environmental Sustainability on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 1 p.m. via Zoom. The session will feature panel presentations and discussions with Stacey McCarthy, Marketing & Communications Manager, Aquaculture Association of Nova Scotia, Alicia Lake, Executive Director, Cape Breton Food Hub, and Allison McIsaac, Biologist of Eskasoni Fish & Wildlife Commission. The session will be moderated by Amanda Mombourquette, Community Innovation Lead at Nova Scotia Community College. This event is part of the Cape Breton Partnership's and Nova Scotia Community College’s Ocean Farming Series, bringing our local Cape Breton - Unama'ki business community together to hear from industry experts on a range of topics important to the success and growth of the ocean farming sector on Cape Breton Island.

The session will feature panel presentations and discussions with Michelle Theriault, Director of Université Sainte-Anne’s Marine Research Centre and satellite campus in Petit de Grat, NS, Ashley Sprague, Manager Seafood Services at Perennia, and Giulia Pereira, Sea Farm Operations Faculty, Department of Technology & Environment at Nova Scotia Community College. The session will be moderated by Dan Lane, Interim Director – Lobster Quality Research & Innovation Centre de recherche marine, Université Sainte-Anne. He is also a Professor Emeritus at the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa.
