We’re Looking for Your Input – Workforce Insights Survey

December 2, 2021

We’ve all heard it many many times over the last few years, the need for talent is astronomical. Our sector is growing, our post-secondary institutions and training programs are working hard to meet the needs, but talent recruitment and retention continue to surface as one of our number one priorities.

We need the right people, with the right skills, for the right job.

Data is knowledge, and good data leads to good solutions. So we’re working with the Association of Industry Sector Councils (AISC) and 13 other sectors to gather important labour market information on our respective sectors(thanks to funding support from the Province of Nova Scotia’s Department of Labour, Skills and Immigration).

We’re proud to release the Workforce Insights Survey in partnership with the Association of Industry Sector Councils (AISC) and its 13 other member industry councils. The objective of the survey is to collect accurate, timely and relevant labour market information from digital technology employers and other sector employers across the province. Our goal will be to collect data which communicates the labour force strengths and opportunities of Nova Scotian employers, such as major skills needed and recruitment trends, and to use this data to create a Labour Market Information Dashboard. The dashboard is a virtual tool that will aggregate and communicate anonymous data, accessible by all Nova Scotian employers and other labour market stakeholders. It will provide useful labour market information that can help inform strategic workforce planning and other business decisions.

So, we are here – asking for your experiences, insights and thoughts. Your input via this 20-25 minute survey is invaluable, and your participation will put us in the best possible position to represent and address your present and future workforce needs.

The anonymous results of this survey will be used to create a Labour Market Information Dashboard! This dashboard will be a free, virtual tool accessible to provincial businesses and other stakeholders that can be used to inform human resource and strategic planning for your business. It’ll do this by providing concise and timely labour market information. We want to provide Nova Scotian businesses the best data to create the best outcomes.
