What excites you the most about the tech sector in Nova Scotia?
Technology is one of the main drivers towards economic growth in modern countries. Lessons learned, COVID showed us that societies and cultures have to adapt to the integration of the digital world into our life. We were calling the internet a virtual world, but it is becoming an essential part of our real world! My credo is that the future of Tech lies in its application to different domains, and new verticals will emerge in agriculture, health, transportation, etc. To this aim, companies involved in these different sectors should be connected to Tech companies. In my opinion, inter-sector collaboration will be the key to innovation and success! What excites me the most is that Digital Nova Scotia is a big driver that can create these connections! Moreover, there’s no doubt that the Tech sector is evolving fast in Nova Scotia, which requires a pool of Tech talents to scale faster. My second excitement comes from the fact that being a member of the Skills For Hire Atlantic project, I can contribute to sourcing the pool with new talents in cybersecurity and data analytics.
What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?
Being in Nova Scotia, I would say it depends on the weather ! With the changing weather, I’m getting used to having plans ready for different situations. I usually prefer outdoor activities. When it’s sunny, I love running in the beautiful Halifax neighborhood. My little daughter teached me how to skate, and I’m becoming a big fan of skating in the Oval. I usually enjoy family activities at home, especially playing Lego with my son. Sometimes, I spend time watching documentary TV programs related to history, engineering, and geography.
What’s something you’re passionate about that might surprise us?
Traveling ! I love discovering new countries and new cultures ! My past job allowed me to travel a lot. My wife usually tells me that I’m influenceable as after each trip I come with new resolutions and things to change in our day-to-day life. I try to understand the differences, and get inspired! This is my Learner attitude.
