Seeking a student representative on the DNS Board of Directors

July 25, 2018

Digital Nova Scotia is inviting applications from students in the ICT field(*) who are interested in filling the position of student representative on the Digital Nova Scotia Board of Directors.

The appointment is for a one year period. Senior year university undergrads, second-year college students, and graduate students are invited to apply. Previous experience with boards, management committees, and volunteer organizations is valued but not necessary.

As the student representative, you will be expected to attend eight board meetings during the course of the year. As well, you will be invited to represent the organization at various events held throughout the year. This is an opportunity to interact with the ICT industry in Nova Scotia, to create a network within the sector, and to influence the direction of the organization.

The Board of Digital Nova Scotia is made up of senior representatives from the ICT industry in Nova Scotia as well as academic, community, and other members. All Digital Nova Scotia Board members hold their positions on a volunteer basis.

Interested individuals are encouraged to apply with a resume and cover letter, as well as a recommendation from a faculty member at their institution. Applications should be sent to [email protected] with the text “Student Board Member” in the subject line. The Board will select a candidate in early September.
