Invest Nova Scotia Now Recruiting for Trade Mission to Web Summit Vancouver 2025

Invest Nova Scotiais now accepting applications from Nova Scotia-based companies for an upcoming education trade mission to Web Summit Vancouver, scheduled for May 27-30, 2025. This mission offers an opportunity for local start-ups to participate in one of the world’s largest tech conferences, providing valuable networking opportunities, investor access, and educational programming.

Web Summit Vancouver attracts thousands of industry leaders, investors, and innovators from around the globe. Participating companies will have the opportunity to:
- Connect with Global Tech Leaders: Engage with investors, industry experts, and potential partners.
- Gain Industry Insights: Attend educational sessions and workshops designed to strengthen business strategies.
- Enhance Market Exposure: Build brand awareness and explore growth opportunities in international markets.
What the Mission Includes
Selected companies will participate in Web Summit Vancouver either through the ALPHA program (designed for early-stage start-ups) or as General Attendees. Participants will receive:
- Full Access to Web Summit Vancouver – Admission to all three days of the event, including keynotes, panel discussions, and networking sessions.
- Pre- and Post-Mission Workshops – Hands-on sessions covering topics such as pitching, trade show preparation, competitive intelligence, intellectual property, and investor readiness.
- In-Market Growth Seminar and Networking Opportunities – Opportunities to engage with industry leaders and explore potential partnerships.
- Financial Support – Reimbursement of 75 percent of travel costs, up to a maximum of $2,650 per company.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the ALPHA program, start-ups must meet the following criteria:
- Be less than six years old
- Have raised no more than US$1 million in funding
- Have a launched product with a functioning website
- Own a unique software product or connected hardware device
General Attendee Option
Companies that do not meet the ALPHA criteria may apply to participate as General Attendees, subject to availability.
Exclusion Companies that meet any of the following criteria are not eligible to participate:
- Have previously participated in an in-person trade mission to Collision with Invest Nova Scotia
- Have already registered independently for Web Summit Vancouver 2025
Application Process
- Download and Complete the Application: A fillable PDF application form is available online. Once completed, the form should be submitted to valerie.caswell@investnovascotia.ca.
- Register via Eventbrite: Interested companies must also register using the Eventbrite link to confirm their intent to participate.
