GradWorks: Employer Incentive Program

Capacity building is critical to improving business performance and local economic development. ACOA and NSCC have been working together to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Nova Scotia build organizational capacity by providing a provincial funding incentive to assist you with hiring recent NSCC graduates and provide post-graduation work experience. About the program GradWorks matches small-to-medium-sized business across Nova Scotia with skilled, talented NSCC graduates from three eligible programs. As an employer, this incentive will help you build capacity in your company to support productivity and profitability. Through this program, eligible SMEs could obtain funding support – up to 66% of a graduates salary (max $25,000) to hire a recent graduate from the three eligible programs for a one-year period with the understanding that the organizations sees the benefits of the position and may continue employment indefinitely. Graduates will have an opportunity to launch their careers and gain valuable experience and on-the-job training. Eligible Employers Employers in most business sectors are eligible to participate with a preference given to business-to-business organizations focused on export and innovation. Businesses that are NOT eligible include: retail/wholesale; real estate; government services; or services of a personal or social nature. Eligible Programs & Graduates GradWorks is available to recent graduates from the following programs and fields:
- Human Resource Management (Advanced Diploma)
- Industrial Engineering Technology (Diploma)
- Occupational Health & Safety (Certificate)
