Global Relay: Providing industry insights with new digital information service, GRIP

September 13, 2023

Compliance regulations within the digital landscape are constantly changing and evolving, and it can be hard to keep up. But that’s where Global Relay comes in—offering insights and expertise to the larger compliance community through its new digital information service, GRIP.

Global Relay is the leading provider of fully compliant, cloud electronic communications archiving, messaging, supervision, and eDiscovery solutions for the global financial sector and other highly regulated industries. Founded in 1999 by CEO Warren Roy, today it is the go-to compliance solution for over 20,000 clients spanning 90 countries, including 22 of the top 25 banks.

Aiming to increase consumer knowledge worldwide, earlier this year Global Relay launched a new digital information service, Global Relay Intelligence & Practice (GRIP). GRIP provides industry practitioners with daily content surrounding recent trends and developments in fintech, crypto, and emerging ESG compliance.

As a cloud provider that has been in the compliance industry for over 24 years, GRIP was a natural progression for Global Relay as a business because of the connection we have with so many parts of the financial markets globally,” said Warren Roy, CEO and Founder of Global Relay.

The articles, whitepapers, and guides found on the easily-accessible platform supplies readers with best practices, industry trends, and practical tips for success. The service also produces webinars and podcasts featuring industry professionals and thought leaders who share their valuable knowledge and expertise.

“GRIP is operated by a team of journalists with over 90 years’ combined experience in reporting for specialist business communities,” said Alex Viall, Chief Strategy Officer for Global Relay. “All GRIP content is published according to the journalistic standards of truth, accuracy, and objectivity.”

Global Relay employs more than 1,300 people worldwide, who operate in a hybrid work model. Here in Nova Scotia, the company has a team of 30 dedicated professionals, consisting of software developers, SDETs, DevOps, and product managers, who work out part of the week in a ‘inspiring, open-concept’ office space in the newly-renovated Halifax office in Founders Square.

“As a global company, having an office in Nova Scotia brings a unique blend of advantages,” said Steve Taylor, Lead Talent Acquisition for Global Relay Human Resources.

“The local talent pool is exceptional, allowing us to tap into a diverse skill set. Additionally, the supportive business environment and strong sense of community in Halifax contribute to a positive and productive workplace.”

As Global Relay continues to grow and innovate, Taylor said there is a lot to look forward to—such as the expansion into new locations as well as new office spaces in Manhattan, Ottawa, San Francisco and Stockholm, to be unveiled in 2024.

“These strategic expansions mark another significant step in our mission to make a global impact and revolutionize the way organizations approach information archiving, surveillance, and compliance,” said Taylor.

“As we move forward though, it’s important to acknowledge the hard work of our team and the trust of our customers that drive us to succeed. We’re ready to take on whatever comes next—the good and the challenging—and we appreciate all those who are partnering with us and are part of this journey.”
