Digital Nova Scotia is looking for a technical development partner to build an application focused on promoting leadership skills called Future Leaders. This new application will allow employees of our member organizations to create their own customized professional growth plans, which are guided by Digital Nova Scotia’s research.
As part of this project, we have already conducted extensive user experience research. We will provide the successful proponent with in-depth UX, UI, application flows, wireframes, content, and visual design specifications.
DOWNLOAD RFPAbout The Future Leaders Web Application
The Future Leaders web application is an interactive digital platform that will allow users to explore nine skill sets and competencies related to management and leadership in the tech sector in Nova Scotia. The platform will be integrated into the Digital Nova Scotia website to allow current users to login with their existing credentials and new users to sign up for an account.
Each competency on the Future Leaders platform will contain three levels of achievement for each of the nine competencies. Each competency level is determined by a series of self-evaluation questions that will allow users to benchmark their current skill sets and form an initial ranking. Users move to the next level of each competency by completing required readings and setting personal goals, selecting a higher competency achievement, or retaking the self-assessment to populate a new score.
A live calendar feature will be integrated into the platform that links to our current Event Calendar, which can filter to display relevant content related to management and leadership based on WordPress tags.
The eventual goal of this platform is to house, or link out to, multiple types of training and video-based courses for the current tech and ICT workforce, as well as for new talent entering the sector. We want to design the platform with this in mind so that it has the flexibility and capability to grow and house new training content in the future.
As part of this project, we have already conducted extensive user experience research. We will provide the successful proponent with in-depth UX, UI, application flows, wireframes, content, and visual design specifications.
The successful proponent will be responsible for four main technical tasks:
- Build the Future Leaders web application based on the UX and design specifications.
- Integrate the application into the existing digitalnovascotia.com website.
- Transition the Digital Nova Scotia website to a more robust hosting platform.
- Ongoing technical support and maintenance of the Future Leaders application.
