Chalder Consulting: Bridging gaps in IT Projects with expert resources and tailored solutions

January 25, 2024

Whether migrating more than 500 servers from one datacenter to another or building a new customer loyalty program for a major enterprise client, Chalder Consulting is your partner for success, offering tailored solutions and expert support for seamless project execution.

Chalder Consulting, under the leadership of CEO Ron Smith, specializes in providing resources to supplement diverse Information Technology projects, filling the crucial gaps companies often face amid capacity constraints.

“We can help companies when they are at capacity but their project work demands keep coming in,” said Smith. “Supplementing the team with consultants and contractors is a way to bring in help when needed.”

The New Brunswick-based company recently expanded into Nova Scotia, a move that aligns with their goal of serving clients across Canada, fostering a nationwide impact. The company can now deploy resources in Alberta, British Columbia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Nova Scotia, said Smith, adding the company has grown almost exclusively by personal networks.

“We’ve been able to grow the team through past relationships. Smart people seem to travel in packs. The Maritimes is a small community in IT and there is often someone great who is known by people working within Chalder,” he said.

In addition to their strategic expansion, Chalder Consulting has recently partnered with a firm that specializes in extending ERP solutions through innovative approaches, such as customer-guided selling, ease of sales, client-managed assets to help with future sales and combining shipping from different warehouses. It’s an exciting new space for the company, said Smith, as it adds an exciting dimension to their service offerings.

“Imagine a world where a customer could choose their shipping method that would reduce cost if they were willing to wait,” said Smith. “Giving a customer this choice makes them more empowered.”

When it comes to emerging tech trends, Smith says some of the most interesting work recently has been in the IoT (Internet of Things) space, adding that security is also top of mind with each and every client or project.

“It is an ever-evolving area in which companies are putting a strong focus. Our people stay abreast of trends and training in this area,” he said.

From working with SJ Energy and NB Power Smart Grid projects to reduce energy demand to facilitating seamless migrations from traditional Microsoft Servers to MS Azure, Chalder Consulting is up for a challenge and is always eager to support new and existing clients.

“We try to understand how we can be helpful to each client as they are all unique,” said Smith. “I find we grow in a way that becomes more and more helpful as time passes with a client.”
