The Trade Commissioner Service (TCS) in Mexico, in collaboration with the Canadian Technology Accelerator (CTA), invites 6 export-ready ICT companies to a virtual business delegation and a special mini acceleration program in Mexico. By participating in the program, you will gain the knowledge and connections needed to enter and grow in this key market.

Why Mexico?

Mexico has become a technologically sophisticated economy and one of Latin America’s leading marketsfor information and communication technologies (ICT), where the sector accounts for roughly 3.4% of GDP. With over 4,000 ICT businesses catering to more than 2.6 million corporate buyers, many global tech players have called Mexico home, including giants like Apple, Google, Microsoft, IBM, Infosys, Amazon, Tata Consultancy, SAP, HP and Oracle, among many others.

Canadian technology providers can benefit from the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA) and the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) for an easier access to the Mexican market.

Who should apply?

We are seeking Canadian ICT companies who have solutions appealing to the following sub-sectors:

  • Industry 4.0 I
  • nternet-of-Things (IoT)
  • Enterprise Software
  • Digital Marketing
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  • Cybersecurity

Participating Canadian companies will be able to meet with potential end-customers, integrators, distributors, Value- added Re-sellers (VARs) and other stakeholders in Mexico from a wide array of industries, including financial services (banking and insurance companies), retailers, manufacturing and service providers, among others. Canadian Participants should have:

  • a differentiated and validated technology or product;
  • a proven product market fit with a defined target audience;
  • existing market traction with at least one minimum viable product and evidence of maturity, including revenue, investment or other;
  • a passionate, strong and committed management team with at least one senior manager who can commit to participating in the entire program.

Programming

This program will offer customized virtual support from October 11 to November 4, 2022. Prior to the official opening, we will conduct individual meetings with each selected company to better understand their technology offer and program expectations, as well as to establish tailored priorities to develop their business strategy. Programming is split into three main components:

1 . Virtual Market preparedness (October 11-14, 2022)

  • Introductory Briefing Session
  • Webinar “How to do business in Mexico and opportunities in the ICT sector”
  • Individual mentorship sessions and tailored advice on engaging with and pitching to local stakeholders

2 . Virtual B2B meetings with organizations based in Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey and other cities across Mexico (October 11 – 31, 2022)

3 . Virtual Follow-up, lessons learned and Off-boarding session (October 31 – November 4, 2022)
