Shaun Whynacht, Blue Cow Marketing’s founder and CEO, strives to give his clients their most valuable commodity back: time. How does he do this? Through marketing automation. 

“For clients, they’re spending a lot of time doing things over and over again,” said Whynacht. 

“A lot of the focus that I’ve really honed in on is that marketing automation piece—how can we automate those repetitive tasks?”

While automation can help relieve much of the stress that comes with being a business owner, there are some things to keep in mind, said Whynacht. 

“The first mistake is when people are trying to treat everyone the same. Everybody’s unique and everybody has different challenges. The key thing is to try to identify what their challenges are or what it is that they need help with very early on in the process,” said Whynacht, adding the importance isn’t whether the message is automated or not, but what’s in the message.

“We all have those friends who will just reach out to you and say, ‘Hey,  I thought you’d be interested in that.’ That’s the type of friend you need to come across as in your content,” he said.
