Employment grew at a strong pace in October, up from the prior month by 83,600 jobs, making it the sixth consecutive monthly gain.
The growth occurred in both full-time and part-time positions, though primarily full-time.
The unemployment rate declined slightly in October to 8.9%, influenced by the solid job gains.
The goods-producing sector added jobs (+17,600), while the services-producing sector saw growth of 66,000 jobs.

Employment grew at a strong pace in October, up from the prior month by 12,200 jobs, making it the sixth consecutive monthly gain.
Full-time jobs increased alongside fewer part-time.
The unemployment rate fell in the month to 10.1%, influenced by the solid job gains.
The goods-producing sector added jobs (+4,600), while the services-producing sector saw growth of 7,600 jobs.
