Canada
- Employment rose during the month by 21,100 jobs.
- The growth occurred in both full time and part time positions.
- The unemployment rate fell in the month to 5.2%.
- The goods producing sector lost jobs in September ( 24,800), while the services producing sector saw growth of 45,900 jobs.

Atlantic Canada
- The Atlantic Region experienced growth in employment in September, amounting to 3,900 jobs.
- Part time jobs increased while full time jobs declined.
- The rate of unemployment fell sharply, going from 8.2% to 7.2%, resting just above the 12 month low of 7.1%.
- The goods producing sector added jobs (+4,600), while the service sector saw job reductions of 800.
