Senior Platform Engineer

Maplewave is searching for a highly skilled Senior Platform Engineer to help shape the future of our engineering ecosystem. In this role, you’ll architect, build, and evolve the core platform that powers all product development across the organization. You’ll work closely with delivery teams, architects, and product developers, ensuring our platform is scalable, reliable, and consistently adopted across teams.

What You’ll Do
- Lead the design, architecture, and evolution of Maplewave’s engineering platform.
- Drive the adoption of platform standards, tooling, and modern engineering practices.
- Build and refine GitLab CI/CD pipelines and internal automation tools.
- Design and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (AWS/Terraform).
- Implement observability across logs, metrics, and tracing to support operational excellence.
- Mentor engineers and collaborate across delivery, architecture, and product teams.
- Identify workflow challenges and lead initiatives that improve developer experience.
What We’re Looking For
- Several years of hands-on experience in platform engineering, DevOps, SRE, or related fields.
- 3+ years in a technical leadership role, influencing cross-team technical decisions.
- Strong skills in cloud architecture (AWS), automation, containers, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Experience with modern CI/CD practices and developer productivity tooling.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively.
- A collaborative, solution-focused mindset and commitment to high engineering standards.
Education & Certifications (Preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD/CKS), Terraform Associate, or GitLab CI/CD Specialist.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Knowledge of GitOps workflows, service mesh technologies, secrets management, or policy-as-code.
- Experience with React for internal tooling or PowerShell for Windows-based automation.
- Exposure to large-scale engineering environments and modern developer experience platforms.
Working Conditions
- Hybrid work environment with extended computer use.
- Occasional travel for collaboration or customer solution reviews.
- Participation in maintenance windows or incident response as needed.
