OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE: 

 

We are seeking skilled Senior Clinical Business Analysts to join our team. The Senior Clinical Business Analysts (BA) will leverage their expertise in hospital processes and patient health data to work closely with clinical and medical providers, supporting patient care delivery. With experience in digital health application implementations, the BA will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in clinical data integration and healthcare IT systems. Collaborating with various clinical stakeholders, they will capture requirements and align healthcare services with IT solutions, ensuring effective support for patient care.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING IN THE ROLE:  

 

  • Leading or facilitating project workstreams aimed at uniting clinicians and medical professionals to standardize both clinical and non-clinical processes in preparation for the implementation of hospital-wide and province-wide health information systems.
  • Provide support in creating standardized clinical practices, documentation templates, and workflows used by physicians, nurses, and other regulated healthcare professionals.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on the impact that digitization of clinical practices will have on the design of content, workflows, and procedures.
  • Work with the Project Manager, to develop and maintain high level project plans and assist in complex problem-solving of processes.
  • Responsible for gathering and defining business and system requirements from subject matter experts and clinical/non-clinical stakeholders, conducting gap analysis, developing design documents, and facilitating engagement sessions to achieve the project’s objectives.
  • Foster and maintain close working relationships with the various lines of business to ensure the business and information technology requirements align.

 

WHAT SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS YOU’LL NEED TO DO THE JOB:  

 

  • University Degree in either Healthcare, Business Administration or Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 8 years demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst (or equivalent) responsible for requirements gathering, workshop facilitation, use case analysis, business process analysis, detailed design activities, and developing business analysis documentation.
  • Minimum 3 years of demonstrated full-time experience in health information systems and/or healthcare operations.
  • Demonstrated experience with clinical business analysis in one or more of the following: clinical documentation, ancillary services (Pharmacy, Medical Imaging, Laboratory) are asset.
  • Demonstrated experience working with a high level of self-direction, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to confidently engage and collaborate with project team members, clinical subject matter experts, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Lead experience in management of healthcare initiatives with a specific focus on CIS implementation and/or clinical standardization, experience in Cerner, Meditech Expanse or Epic is preferred.
  • Experience in implementation projects related to Electronic Health Record (EHR), Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or digital health applications is preferred.
  • Experience as a regulated health care provider in an operational role.
  • Knowledge or experience in organizational change management is an asset.
  • Demonstrated expertise employing project management tools, agile methodologies, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, Teams) in the work environment.
  • Previous experience working within public health authorities, showcasing a strong understanding of the public health landscape, policies, and practices is an asset.
  • Ability to communicate in French is an asset.
