In this role, you’ll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
Your role and responsibilities
The SAP EWM Functional Consultant will be responsible for designing, configuring, and supporting SAP Extended Warehouse Management solutions to meet complex business requirements. The role involves leading end-to-end EWM implementations, collaborating with business stakeholders to translate warehouse operations into system design, and ensuring seamless integration with SAP S/4HANA and related logistics modules. Responsibilities include solution design, configuration, functional specifications, testing (unit, integration, and UAT), cutover support, go-live stabilization, and post-production support. The consultant is also expected to guide junior team members and contribute to process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required technical and professional expertise
The qualified candidate will have 7–10 years of hands-on SAP EWM functional experience, including multiple full lifecycle implementations.
- Strong expertise is required in inbound, outbound, internal warehouse processes, advanced putaway and picking strategies, warehouse task and warehouse order management, labor management, handling unit management, and RF/mobile transactions.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA Embedded EWM is mandatory, along with basic knowledge of integration points with MM, SD, PP, QM, and TM.
- The candidate should demonstrate strong debugging and issue-resolution skills, familiarity with EWM customizing, and the ability to work independently in complex environments.
- SAP EWM certification (e.g., SAP Certified Application Associate – Extended Warehouse Management) is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience in logistics, warehousing, or supply chain operations is highly desirable.
Preferred technical and professional experience
• Advanced SAP S/4HANA EWM Knowledge: Experience with advanced SAP S/4HANA EWM features and capabilities, including configuration and implementation of complex warehouse management solutions. • Supply Chain Optimization Techniques: Experience in applying supply chain optimization techniques using SAP S/4HANA EWM, including process streamlining and productivity improvement. • Industry-Specific EWM Solutions: Experience in designing and implementing industry-specific EWM solutions using SAP S/4HANA, including integration with existing systems and processes.
