As part of the Global Functions Technology (GFT) within RBC’s Technology and Operations division, you’ll be at the heart of a team that extends its services across the organization, offering IT solutions that drive transformation and efficiency. Joining our Finance IT Data Management team, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting Test Execution and Test Automation on our cutting-edge Big Data Platform. This role involves working with the latest technologies and programming languages such as Cloudera, Spark, Scala, Unix, SQL, Python, and leveraging DevOps Containerization applications.

Your primary responsibility will be to support the team in enhancing QE Automation for our diverse client groups, alongside managing test execution. This position offers a unique chance to showcase and further develop your technical and architectural expertise.

What will you do?

  • Support overall quality engineering strategy, accountable for developing and executing functional testing as well as build automation implementations for the ecosystem/program
  • Support QE initiatives and overall QE Automation process and standards
  • Be part of high performing diverse team that leverages individual capabilities & strengths, Ensures adequate training and tools to deliver objectives
  • Responsible for following and developing defined processes and tools and alignment with overall QE strategy and framework
  • Responsible for providing accurate and detailed quality status to project team and stakeholders.
  • Partner with Application Development Directors to integrate quality engineering mindset/concepts within the DevOps framework/pipeline

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 2+ years of related experience
  • Experience in a variety of test automation tools (Robot Framework, Selenium, Jenkins)
  • Experience with Unix, Python (Pandas, Pycharm), and SQL, Tableau
  • Hands-on experience with Big Data related testing (HDFS, Hive, CDP), including Data Ingestion, Enrichment, Aggregation, Lineage, Quality, Transformation and Consumptions using automated tools.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience reviewing artefacts including code reviews (application and test automation scripts)
  • Experience using SDLC, QE and DevOps tools (JIRA, GitHub, Jenkins, UurbanCodeDeploy, qTest etc.
  • Hands-on knowledge and experience on Data masking technologies.
  • QA implementations using Agile methodology
