Project Manager
Position Description:
We are seeking an experienced Intermediate to Senior Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex projects across business, technology, and operational environments. The successful candidate will manage scope, schedule, budget, risks, stakeholders, vendors, and delivery teams while ensuring strong client engagement and high-quality project outcomes.
This role is well suited for a project manager who can operate independently, communicate confidently with senior stakeholders and clients, and bring structure, discipline, and momentum to cross-functional initiatives.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end project delivery, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure.
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, success criteria, timelines, budgets, and resource plans.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong working relationships and ensuring clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead client-facing meetings, project status updates, steering committees, workshops, and governance forums.
- Translate client needs and business objectives into actionable project plans, deliverables, and delivery priorities.
- Manage client expectations related to scope, timelines, budget, risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests.
- Prepare and deliver professional client-facing documentation, including status reports, executive updates, project plans, RAID logs, decision logs, and presentation materials.
- Proactively identify risks and issues, communicate impacts to clients and internal stakeholders, and drive resolution plans.
- Lead cross-functional teams, including business, technology, vendor, client, and operational stakeholders.
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards, contractual commitments, and client expectations.
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, resource allocation, and financial reporting as required.
- Coordinate with vendors, partners, and third-party providers to ensure delivery commitments are met.
- Support change management, communications, training, and transition-to-operations activities.
- Ensure compliance with organizational project management standards, governance frameworks, contractual obligations, and reporting requirements.
- Escalate project risks, delivery concerns, and client satisfaction issues appropriately and in a timely manner.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to junior project team members when needed.
- Client-Facing Capabilities
- Ability to build trusted relationships with clients, executives, business sponsors, and delivery stakeholders.
- Strong executive presence and confidence leading discussions with senior client representatives.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for technical, business, and executive audiences.
- Ability to manage difficult conversations professionally, including scope changes, delivery delays, budget impacts, and competing priorities.
- Strong consultative mindset, with the ability to understand client business needs and recommend practical delivery approaches.
- Experience managing client expectations in complex, fast-paced, or ambiguous environments.
- Ability to identify opportunities to improve client satisfaction, project outcomes, and long-term account relationships.
- Comfortable representing the organization professionally in client meetings, workshops, and governance forums.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 8+ years preferred for senior candidates.
- Demonstrated experience delivering medium to large-scale projects in client-facing or stakeholder-intensive environments.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery models.
- Experience managing project budgets, schedules, resources, risks, issues, and executive-level reporting.
- Experience working directly with clients, business sponsors, vendors, and senior stakeholders.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Azure DevOps, Smartsheet, Clarity,
- Planview, or similar tools.
- Preferred Qualifications
- PMP, Certified ScrumMaster, PMI-ACP, or equivalent certification.
- Experience working within a PMO, consulting, managed services, systems integration, or structured governance environment.
- Experience managing technology, transformation, infrastructure, software implementation, business process, or operational improvement projects.
- Contract and statement-of-work management experience.
- Experience with change management practices and organizational adoption.
- Experience supporting account teams, delivery executives, or client relationship leads.
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $75,000–$145,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
