Project Manager
The Project Manager will be a critical part of the delivery team for Modest Tree and this role will work in collaboration with our customers and other strategic partners to successfully deliver training development.
As the Project Manager, you have a passion for managing and exceeding client expectations at every turn, while ensuring a team of lesson designers, modellers and lesson developers meets all cost, schedule, scope, and quality requirements.
Responsibilities
- Primary point of communication with client project authority; keeping client informed of project status, negotiating changes, any issues for escalation and change orders when necessary.
- Participating in level of effort and cost estimating to support new opportunity development and closure
- Reviewing, understanding, and managing contracts.
- Preparing project plans that will deliver contract requirements.
- Working collaboratively with resource managers to ensure required resources are identified to execute project plans.
- Providing updates regularly, including written status reports, noting any deviations from the project plan; including cost changes, schedule variances, milestones, issues and risks.
- Monitoring project progress and reviewing status provided by project team members.
- Using formal methodology, procedural knowledge, and budget management experience to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Coordinating, planning, scheduling production resources, and deliverables with the broader PMO resource allocation and planning.
- Planning and tracking effort of the project team and supporting BTSI’s processes for invoice generation.
- Other related duties as required.
Required Qualifications
- PMP certification, or PM experience and willingness to obtain PMP certification.
- Must be able to acquire Government of Canada Secret security clearance.

- Strong computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Project)
Desired Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in project management.
- Experience with military projects/contracts.
- Experience with courseware and/or training development projects.
Due to the nature of our work, all work is done in Halifax and this is not a remote role.
