Your mission

As the Program Manager, Entrepreneurship at QueerTech, you will play a key role in supporting and advancing queer-led startups. Your mission will be to foster the growth and success of our QT Founders program, aimed at empowering early-stage queer entrepreneurs and driving economic growth within the 2SLGBTQ+ community. This role involves program management, event coordination, mentorship facilitation, and community-building to provide resources, skills, and connections for queer founders in the tech sector.

Responsibilities

Program Management

  • Lead the QT Founders Program: Manage all aspects of the QT Founders program, including outreach, participant selection, curriculum design, and progress tracking.
  • Resource Development: Develop and deliver resources, tools, and workshops that cater to the unique challenges and opportunities of queer entrepreneurs.
  • Mentorship Facilitation: Build and manage a network of mentors, advisors, and industry experts to support program participants.
  • Partnership Building: Collaborate with industry partners, investors, and corporate allies to create resources and opportunities for QT Founders participants.
  • Goal Setting & Tracking: Establish clear program goals, KPIs, and impact metrics to assess participant growth and overall program success.

Entrepreneurship Support

  • Coaching and Advising: Provide individual and group coaching to participants, helping them navigate challenges in startup development, funding, and growth.
  • Content Creation: Design and facilitate workshops, webinars, and educational resources on topics like startup fundamentals, pitch preparation, fundraising, and business scaling.
  • Community Engagement: Cultivate a supportive and collaborative community of queer entrepreneurs, providing spaces for peer-to-peer learning and connection.

Event Coordination

  • Event Planning: Plan and execute QT Founders events, including boot camps, pitch competitions, networking events, and mentorship sessions.
  • Conference Integration: Coordinate QT Founders involvement at the QT Qonference and other QueerTech events to highlight program participants, showcase startups, and connect founders with potential investors.
  • Outreach: Manage outreach efforts to expand awareness of QueerTech’s entrepreneurship programs and attract new participants and partners.

Impact Measurement & Reporting

  • Data Collection: Track program metrics and analyze participant outcomes to measure impact and ensure alignment with QueerTech’s strategic goals.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports and presentations for QueerTech leadership, sponsors, and stakeholders, program highlighting successes, challenges, and growth opportunities.
  • Funding Support: Assist in preparing impact data and outcomes for grant applications and sponsorship pitches to secure additional funding for QueerTech’s entrepreneurship programs.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in program management, entrepreneurship support, or business development, ideally within nonprofit or startup environments.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the startup ecosystem, including knowledge of startup funding, growth strategies, and the unique challenges faced by underrepresented entrepreneurs.
  • Community Awareness: Understanding of the 2SLGBTQ+ community, particularly regarding issues within the tech and startup sectors.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong project management abilities, with the ability to lead programs, coordinate cross-functional teams, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of creating professional presentations, reports, and program content.
  • Analytical Abilities: Proficiency in data collection and impact assessment tools, with experience in tracking and reporting program metrics.
  • Languages: Proficiency in English and French are required.

Compensation & Benefits

QueerTech offers a competitive compensation package, including:

  • Salary Range: $65,000 – $75,000
  • Transportation and Wellness: $1,600 annually
  • Professional Development: $600 per year, plus 8 hours monthly (up to 10 days annually)
  • Vacation: 3 weeks, plus an end-of-year break
  • Stipends: Cell phone and internet reimbursement up to $100 monthly
