EDIFECs Developer – 68235781
As an Edifecs Developer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and supporting healthcare EDI solutions that enable accurate, compliant, and timely data exchange across payer and provider ecosystems. You will be a valued member of the Healthcare IT team and will work collaboratively with business analysts, integration teams, trading partners, and production support teams.
In this role, you will:
- Design, develop, and implement EDI solutions using the Edifecs platform, including SpecBuilder, XEngine (Transaction Management), and Edifecs Enterprise.
- Build, configure, and maintain EDI transaction sets and trading partner maps for healthcare standards such as 837, 835, 270/271, 276/277, 834, and 278.
- Develop and manage workflows using Smart Trading and Smart Engine to support partner onboarding and transaction processing.
- Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and trading partners to translate business and functional requirements into technical EDI specifications.
- Monitor EDI transactions, troubleshoot errors, support production issues, and ensure timely resolution across environments.
What you need to have to be considered
- Hands-on experience developing and supporting EDI solutions using the Edifecs platform.
- Strong understanding of healthcare EDI transaction sets and HIPAA standards (X12).
- Experience with SpecBuilder, Transaction Management (XEngine), Smart Trading, and Smart Engine.
- Ability to perform unit testing, integration testing, and production support for EDI transactions.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
These will help you stand out
- Experience onboarding healthcare trading partners and managing payer or provider integrations.
- Knowledge of healthcare claims, eligibility, enrollment, and authorization workflows.
- Experience supporting EDI platforms in production environments with high transaction volumes.
- Familiarity with system upgrades, migrations, and performance tuning within Edifecs.
- Prior experience working in large enterprise healthcare or payer environments.

Salary and Other Compensation
The annual salary for this position is between $100, 000, – $117,000 CAD depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
